High-Level Project Summary

I wanted to leverage machine learning to predict the spread of social media posts. If successful, platforms could use this technique to monitor and flag potential fake news before it goes viral and before it misleads thousands, not after.

Detailed Project Description

I used a dataset of around 900k tweets related to COVID-19. Using Node-Red, I added data on sentiment, emotion, entities, and more to each entry.

COVID-19 continues to be a global problem even though vaccination efforts are underway to control its propagation. Your challenge is to use environmental data and other information (such as epidemiological, social, policy, and economic data) to build a smartphone application that provides individualized, geolocated, COVID-19 risk warnings to guide social awareness, response, and health security.
