Gandaki Innovation Club presents to you " Covid Resource tracker", a free-to-use resource tracker to know and overcome your personalized Covid risk. Our User-friendly interface enables users to calculate their covid risk according to their country specifics and personalized vaccinated data. Our platform allows users to overcome those risks with the help of the resources listed on our resources tab. Our project works on cross-platform i.e both Smartphones and PCs which gives wide-range of use. Our Project encourages our users to ensure safety measures on both ends i.e preventive and curative to eradicate the global pandemic from its roots.
Our team, Gandaki Innovation Club, chose the challenge "Covid-19: Calculate the risk" for the 2021 NASA Space Apps Challenge. The Challenge was to "provide a cross-platform, user-friendly application which personalizes the risk-calculating of the COVID-19 according to the user's geographic specifics and provide them resources to overcome those risks."
Users can request us to be a "resource-lister" through our login button. They can list the resources they have once they are verified through our system.
We have successfully worked to tackle the Challenge with our risk calculator and have gone beyond to solve the problems with our project "Covid Resource Tracker."
We used HTML5, Tailwind CSS, Typescript for the front-end.
We used Next.JS for our backend
We used HashDB for the database
We used following space agency data to complete our project during the hackathon.
We were a team of 6 High schoolers of Gandaki Boarding School, Lamachaur, Pokhara, Nepal. So we knew what we were doing. It was a great experience and a pleasure to continue our journey in the space apps. We mainly learned to work in a team and increased our corporate skills, followed by other soft skills. This challenge taught us to tackle different problems which we will be facing soon too. An apparent reason for choosing this challenge is the global pandemic itself, which we have been seeing and experiencing. We went with a mindset to make life more secure and give people the required help that we can do for their safety.
Initially, We brainstormed how to calculate and personalize the risk for each individual based on their geographical preferences.
We also wanted to give them resources for their ease. We wanted to be a perfect platform where you can find your risk and settle that risk independently. So We started to integrate these ideas onto one platform, Covid Resource Tracker.
The major setback for our team was the data collection of vaccine users and the available vaccine. It was a real tough job for us, high school students, to retain such a level of data for our project.
To overcome the problem, we created our API, manually researched data for resources.
Not mainly, but we would like to thank NASA for creating such a platform for us young aspirants beholding our futures. It was an excellent opportunity to be able to take part in such a glorious event.

COVID-19 continues to be a global problem even though vaccination efforts are underway to control its propagation. Your challenge is to use environmental data and other information (such as epidemiological, social, policy, and economic data) to build a smartphone application that provides individualized, geolocated, COVID-19 risk warnings to guide social awareness, response, and health security.
