Detailed Project Description
The Nexus App consolidates open data & integrate it in a quantified, computational framework as well as present it in a intuitive way. This allows information on COVID-19 related guidance and risk warnings are conveyed to the users as effectively as possible. The app also intelligently computes the risk value / lethality of the disease in a certain location using a number of past metrics. This allows users to make informed decisions before performing any outdoor activities.
Space Agency Data
For this project, I obtained open source data from a number of sources which primarily includes (1) NASA COVID-19 Dashboard and (2) Centre for Systems Science and Engineering by Johns Hopkins Whiting School of Engineering. This data was then used to compute the lethality of the disease in a certain location based on past metrics.
Hackathon Journey
Space Apps hackathon journey was definitely a challenging one. As someone who's just started to code and develop applications, the hackathon allowed me to explore various elements of mobile app development and deployment.
