High-Level Project Summary
As COVID19 still giving a serious threat to the lives of many and facilities are in critical condition to be fully occupied. Our team came up with an idea that will address the current pandemic situation here in the Philippines. TRACK AND CARE! A web based application that provides geographical information of the COVID facilities in the Philippines. It will also give occurrence data and crucial information of the hospitals allowing the users to find a facility that may fit and satisfy their COVID-related demands.

Detailed Project Description
COVID19 is a strain of a coronavirus family that causes severe respiratory syndrome and was found and has emerged last December, 2019 in the province of Hubei, China causing the whole global population in serious threat. Two years later, after infecting over 170 countries, several vaccines were produced and developed throughout the globe, but even though these vaccines exist, COVID19 is still a huge threat towards humanity.
As of now, covid cases here in the Philippines are still rising and frequently hospitals and facilities that accommodate covid patients are almost overcrowded without the residents’ knowledge, which forces them to wait for the release of other patients, putting them in an even more difficult condition.
With this virus threatening the lives of many, our team aimed to create a mapping concept that can visualize and map all COVID19 facilities around the country. Hence, we planned to develop TRACK AND CARE.
TRACK AND CARE is a web based application that features spatial mapping of the COVID19 facilities in the whole Philippine archipelago. Our project’s main objective is to visualize and map each COVID19 facility in the country and its occurrence data to easily track hospitals and its availability and capability of accepting patients for the public.
TRACK AND CARE will also present other occurrence data of the facility such as the name of the hospital, its specific address and route, the number of cases catered, recoveries, deaths, number of beds, residential doctors, nurses, and other healthcare personnel.
The gathering for this data was done through an open data set provided by the Department of Health (DOH) and NASA.
This project aims to offer help to the general public as well as to the health authorities, where through this project, they can evaluate and acknowledge inefficiency and lack of response of healthcare facilities so they can easily address and improve their methods in offering services and healthcare.

Space Agency Data

This project will be needing two different datasets for the map and the occurrence data of the facilities. Specifically, for this to be able to be successfully done, our team will be needing the World View Earth Dataset provided by NASA. The data acquired through this dataset will then be used for the geographical representation of the Philippines and its 81 provinces.
The Department of Health will then provide for another set of data for the statistics and crucial information of the hospitals that will be presented through the project. The DOH has an open data set that is open for the public and our team will be needing the DOH COVID Data Drop_ 20210607 - 10 DOH Data Collect v3 - Baseline spreadsheet file for the number of residential doctors, nurses on duty, medical technologists, radiologic technologists, respiratory therapists, medical support staff, and number of ambulance in the facility. It also contains the most important data that the researchers will need for the mapping, the location and coordinates of the facility.
Hackathon Journey
Even though the Space Apps event is done through a virtual session, it is undeniable that it is still a fun and full of learning experience. From the various ideas and diverse minds of the different competitors joining this hackathon, to the inspiring and encouraging words from the speakers and mentors, me and my team surely learned a lot. The Philippines right now is still standing up in a fight against the COVID19 and this inspired our team to come up with an idea that can lend a hand to anyone. The development of the project is done in a critical way, we carefully thought of the impact and how helpful our project might be if ever it's gonna be successfully done. Our very own experiences and the struggles that we see everyday around us from our fellow Filipinos move and push us to come up with this idea. We are very thankful for this kind of event, for allowing young minds like us to prove our capability of offering help on issues that seriously affect all of us, and for giving us a chance to lend our hand for a greater future for everybody.
