High-Level Project Summary
The mobile application that was developed is called Riskcov, the purpose of which is to allow users to see the current risks of contracting COVID-19 from the places where they plan to travel from a smartphone. This requirement can be carried out from the security of your home, office or anywhere you are, providing comfort, security and will be an important factor in avoiding the spread of COVID-19.We firmly believe that this prototype is a perfect start to provide risk warnings, not only for COVID-19, but that in the future it could be put into practice for other situations of diseases and viruses where the health of each individual and the community is threatened in general.

Detailed Project Description
The Riskcov app uses some remote sensing data from ESA, JAXA and NASA to provide individualized and geolocated COVID-19 risk warnings to guide social awareness, response and health security.
This application is an initial prototype of what we really think. Currently the data to be obtained will be at the country level. The idea is that the user can interact with local specific data from their own community.
It is intuitive as it is inspired by an application known to some users, such as airbn.
When opening the user will have the possibility to type the site where he wants to go, then he has to enter the number of people who will accompany him on his trip.
The application will cross the NASA data corresponding to mobility, vaccination and confirmed cases against covid-19 with the geographical coordinates belonging to the site that the user entered, as well as the number of people who want to go to the place and the need of each one, to estimate each individual's risk levels of contracting covid, which could guide individual decisions regarding what to wear (type of mask), which locations to avoid if possible, and recommend social distancing measures.
The main tool used to carry out this project was a language based on Javascript, specifically the React Native framework. The original application is mainly configured for Android platforms, but with the help of this open source library (React Native), functions on iOS will also be possible, with the respective configurations, which means a great saving of money and time. The main code of the application is hosted in a github repository.
Space Agency Data
We use get requisitions of ESA NASA JAXA earth observing dashboard resources and the NASA SEDAC Application because they were the requisitions that were ready and open to be consumed. To build this prototype application we specifically use these three endpoints:
Vaccinations: https://eodashboard.org/eodash-data/internal/{country}-OW.json
Confirmed Cases: https://eodashboard.org/eodash-data/internal/{country}-CV.json
Mobility Data: https://eodashboard.org/eodash-data/internal/{country}-GG.json
Population: https://sedac.ciesin.columbia.edu/repository/covid19/json/{country}_admin0_age_distribution.json
We judged that these 4 types of dice were the minimum enough to make the prototype, being that of course more data needs to be crossed with enough time to give better estimates and recommendations of risks.
Regarding external sites, we only use the following website: Country API Queries, that uses the endpoint
Country code: https://api.worldbank.org/v2/country/{country}?format=json
The use of these codes is to access the enpoint of the NASA SEDAC Application.
Hackathon Journey
We never thought that it would be possible to participate in something related to NASA, it is one of the most incredible institutions in the world according to point of view.
It has been wonderful to know how our professional area can help inspire ideas that will serve communities and aeronautical and space research.
By participating in this Space Apps experience we learned to make an application inspired by existing systems to place them in favor of the world community.
In the same way that we observe first-hand how the data from space stations is organized and it seemed really incredible to us what has advanced the last decades.
Front-end development, which has become our professional passion. All team members practice this profession and we feel that the challenge of calculating the risks of COVID-19 was the one that came closest to it, in addition to the excitement that with it, we can literally save lives and raise awareness about the care that we still must have for this and with certainty future diseases, especially after all the suffering and chaos that this global pandemic has caused.
The execution of this project is the consequence of a set of events with an internal causal relationship. These are described in: inputs, activities, results, specific objectives and global objective. So our approach was based on a logical framework.
Communication and consistency are always elementary factors to resolve setbacks and challenges, as well as to share opinions, suggestions and application of resolution from all parties.
Finally, we want to thank our daughter Fiorella, because she is the person who inspires us to make the world a better place and is a daily stimulus to try to do our best to achieve this goal.
