High-Level Project Summary
The product has two main functions namely as a risk calculator and latest news feed system. The risk calculator calculates the level of risk to the individual based on the state and indoor/outdoor setting. Through this, the risk calculator will determine whether the individual is in a high risk situation and propose the appropriate Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). The news feed function provides information about the Covid-19 pandemic, news updates, protection guides, and hospital and quarantine locations.It's importance is relevant to helping people be prevented from contracting Covid-19; with this product the user is able to identify the places that they should avoid altogether.

Detailed Project Description
It uses covid-19 related data from a specific website via its api, and then it works by taking the number of cases recorded for each location and compares them with the details of the respective locations; with the incorporation of machine language algorithms, the app produces numerical values representing the risk of every respective location and uses it to color code them on the map
The app also extracts information from the internet and evaluate the information against a list of criteria to facilitate their advice giving, such as if the location selected by the user is either indoor or outdoor, how populated the location is, etc; then, the app further checks for the second stage criteria, an outdoor location may have additional second stage criteria such as weather and wind movement for example.
The app will also grab news from various news sources and filter out the Covid-19 related issues to be posted on the app's news feed.
Space Agency Data
The app uses NASA Sedac for geolocation and retrieving the covid cases data of every respective location, link is https://sedac.ciesin.columbia.edu/mapping/popest/covid-19/
Hackathon Journey
The journey, helped us learn the value of time management as we initially wanted to build an actual working app, but couldn't complete it due to the lack of time and preparation. It also thought us the creative and technical aspect of designing and implementing software; for example, the team had to learn the technicalities of the software implementation such as working out the git tool and how to manage the remote github repository with it.
