High-Level Project Summary
"HeadsUp - Kovid" is an app that keeps you always one step ahead of Covid19. It helps users calculate Covid19 risk based on locations they intend to visit in a day, helping them to be less worried about Covid as we alert them when they're entering a high risk area and make sure they're enjoying their day rather than worrying about Covid19. The importance of the application is that it will help people integrate back into their day-to-day activities without the constant fear of Covid19 Menace.

Detailed Project Description
HeadsUp - Kovid is a simple cross platform application with two primary features.
CovidAhead Feature and Daily assessment feature.
Both features help users calculate their risk and exposure to Covid19 but in a different way.
* The CovidAhead feature allows users to pick areas they might be visiting in a day using OpenStreetMap and based on the environmental data such as Temperature, humidity and air quality from the area, we can highlight high risk areas and let them enable cautionary alerts when they enter such high risk zones during the cause of the day. (It also uses social factors such as events and festivities to calculate the potential crowd and risk they pose).
* The Daily Assessment features allow users to assess themselves after the end of the day to know if they might have been exposed to Covid19 and what to do if there's a likelihood.
What we aim at achieving is to make our users to focus more on living than panic or constantly worry about Covid19, we keep informed ahead of their day and put them one step ahead of Covid19 always.
The app was built with Flutter and it utilises Firebase for data storage and Google Cloud Functions for it's backend.
It also uses OpenStreetMap for mapping.
Space Agency Data
We used NASA-SEDAC (Socioeconomic data and applications center) to get insights into environmental and social data used in calculating potential Covid19 risks in certain areas.
Hackathon Journey
The Space Apps experience was a great one for everyone of us in Team x!.
We have learnt a lot about team spirit and collaborative problem solving.
Our inspiration behind picking the challenge is that Covid19 was and still is a global problem that has affected each and everyone of us one way or another, so we were inspired to pick this challenge as we realised that if we are able to come up with a successful solution, we would be impacting lives all around the world. We wanted to make positive impact and this challenge gave us the opportunity.
We faced a lot of challenges in terms of communication, deciding what approaches to take and on how to get a suitable data to help us with solving the problem.
We were able to resolve some of these issues by seeking mentorship from more experienced people and asking questions, lots of questions... Everyone experienced the pandemic, so it was not so hard to get people to ask questions regarding our solution.
