High-Level Project Summary
As our human population is growing on earth, more land is needed to support our human activities but it is becoming scarce due to natural disaster, inhabitable land and extreme climate. Therefore, it is wise to explore for suitable land to tailor our human needs for the sake of sustainability. Adopting Feng Shui knowledge coupled with data from NASA earth observing satellites to identify suitable locations for mankind activities such as building a house, urban development, township planning, nation building et cetera. Thus, the identified land will be clearer for decision makers to execute their plans that benefit mankind.

Detailed Project Description
In order to determine a suitable site for mankind activities like building a house, the following methods are applied.
Step 1: Top Down Approach (using NASA data from earth observing satellites)
Identify the area of the proposed land for mankind activities are away from natural disasters, extreme climate and inhabitable land based on the NASA data verification. Further checking on the NASA data for a range of time period to ensure the surrounding area are habitable and safe from natural disaster and disaster caused by human (air pollution, water pollution, toxic waste et cetera).
This information allows decision maker (home buyer, corporate, property developer, urban planner, government) to draft up a solution to reduce or resolve any unfavorable events that may happen around the proposed land.
Step 2: Bottom Up Approach (using Feng Shui on ground)
After going through the process of step 1 above, the identified location will then be analyzed with Feng Shui concept to enhance the livability and sustainability of mankind. For example the location is not considered favorable if it is beneath a hill, near a deep waterfall with fast running river and in a deep narrow passage beside a hill. This is because those sites are prone to natural disaster such as landslide may strike at any time near a hill slope or a flood is caused by over flowing river near by. A Feng Shui study on the proposed architecture with the surroundings to have any direct impact or side impact towards the well beings of occupants in the building. For instance, the direction of the wind blowing the area will it be diverted to the proposed building when it is built among any tall architectures that will cause any air turbulence and noise echo to disturb the occupants. The information gathered from this part helps the decision makers to come up with any alternative planning to reduce or overcome the unfavorable events.
Once the process of step 1 and step 2 have been done, the identified land is clearer for the decision maker to decide on the planning and to execute the plan smoothly that will benefit mankind.

The sites provide a bird's eye view that is clear for analyzing the proposed location for mankind activities. Factors such as prone to natural disasters, the geographical overview and updated images with event descriptions are considered and factor in to locate a suitable site for mankind activities.
Hackathon Journey
I have enjoyed the space apps challenge throughout this hackathon journey. There are plenty of science information with good images and descriptions for me to widen my horizon of knowledge. I am inspired with the updated space technology and real time data offer by NASA for the public access such as myself to have a feel of being a team member of the space exploration for mankind. This is a good small step for the public (like myself) to take hopefully one day there are talented individuals that will lead us leaps and bounds into space exploration for the benefit of mankind.
