There’s a case to be made and it’s about the future of how we interact with our technology. It’s hard not to feel, at the moment that Augmented Reality (AR) isn’t much more than a neat parlor trick. Many of its demonstrations are cool and impressive but are now practical as well! How often are you going to need to use AR to visualize the future of sustainability by measuring the value of Earth Observations? Thus, we bring an app :NE-AR: Naturists Explorer - Augmented Reality that can change your world with just one click.

What is the problem?

The problem is that there is no problem!

Why?

Because there is lack of awareness and misinformation regarding Climate Change and we should remember that no NO OTHER CHALLENGE POSES A GREATER THREAT TO FUTURE GENERATIONS THAN CLIMATE CHANGE.

AT LAST, NE-AR IS NOT DESIGNED TO BUILD A CAREER IN CLIMATE CHANGE BUT TO BUILD CLIMATE CHANGE INTO YOUR CAREER

Space Agency Data

ESA and NASA datasets have been utilized for this project. I have taken a particular dataset from ESA i.e. WEkEO datasets.

 

THE PROCESS:-

1.CAPTURE- WEkEO datasets and cloud infrastructure have already captured the data required in the form of Land, Climate, Marine and Atmosphere.(Range: 50 yrs past to 100 yrs future)

2.THROW- The input of timeline, geo-coordinates and of any live location chosen by the user based on the country and the city is sent to the app servers and WEkEO to access the environmental data and virtual processing environments.

3.PROCESS- Data will be sent and processed by WEkEO Copernicus data library and information from the European Earth Observation Copernicus Programme, Computational Artificial Intelligence, Environment Deterioration and Rectification Alert system and Data Compiler.

4.RECEIVE- AR ready data will be received by the App servers.

5.DISPLAY- The final AR effects will be displayed along with the information of the location from past to future changes, causes of the same and how to protect it as an individual. Most importantly, how climate change will affect at their individual level.

 

INSPIRATION:-

In the past years, the deteriorating conditions on our Planet Earth got us goosebumps. We attended many NASA, ESA and ISRO workshops that lead us to create a blueprint for an application that can make people alert and aware of our environment and perhaps create a drastic change with the immediate conditions of our Planet Earth. By measuring the value of Earth Observations, we created this project.

Hackathon Journey

It was a scintillating feat to create my dream project on such a wonderful platform of Space Apps Challenge along with my Medical University examinations as I am also MBBS - Medical Student who wants to pursue Space Medicine and help our Planet Earth with space data + Medicine practice.

To find out whether Virtual Reality (VR) or Augmented Reality(AR) was a better tool to use but with some more research AR was found out to be better than VR as unlike VR, AR keeps us connected with the real world as well.

 

 

INSPIRATION:-

Sanskriti's zeal to help our Planet Earth and Jithin's curiosity for space was a major driving factor that lead us to create this project. We approached a million people to learn outside-our-zone stuffs. We interacted with NASA and ESA astronauts, Engineers, VR and AR specialists, Software Developers and what not but we tried our best to create our dream challenge to come to blueprint.

 

CHALLENGE-

Sanskriti's biggest challenge was her Medical University examination that was going abreast while she was creating this project but her desire for participating in Space Apps again helped her to overcome the same. Jithin's engineering office work was a problem but his zeal helped him overcome this challenge.

 

We'd like to thank wholeheartedly all those people who helped us to create such a wonderful and bringing our dream change project to sustain our Planet Earth.
