A 3D educational and exploratory video game simulates Perseverance rover from Mars 2020 Mission to help the new astronomy scientists and any interested ones to experience a journey to Mars
It's a video game that simulates Perseverance rover from Mars 2020 Mission.
it simulates the main phases of perseverance rover landing. the original sequence according to NASA is described in the following figure

our simulation has the following phases:
according to time, we have done some parts only of the application (7 phases coding), in the following figure we present what we have done so far.
1-the environment design
2-UI:

3-importing 3 models:

the Application is hosted as web application online (in-browser) using the following url:
https://waleedmmgmailcom.itch.io/mars-landing-simulation
after navigating to that page, choose (start game) and wait few minutes to load the game from server

unfortunately, we couldn't complete the game to the end. However, we hope that it can be a good start for us in next year s.
what benefits does it have?
We hope people would know more about the missions to Mars and get the real feeling of the journey. We also hope they will learn a lot from the scientific details which are included.

We only used NASA Space agency data. After all, our game is about simulating their Mars 2020 mission.
We got the inspiration after watching this simulation of EDL (Entry- Descent- landing) :

And then we said why don't we turn it into a video game to let anyone to experience the real feeling of travelling to Mars.
our Team members are from Mansoura University, faculty of Computer and Information Systems. Our Team has searched many challenges in NASA space app hackton page and finally agreed to choose landing on Mars as selected project. we hope that this Project can be interesting to you.

This project has been submitted for consideration during the Judging process.
NASA’s near-term space exploration plans include returning to the Moon and future plans include landing a crew on Mars. Your challenge is to create an inspiring and educational video game or interactive 3D model to simulate a landing on the Moon or Mars!
