High-Level Project Summary
Our project consists of a video game whose main goal is to give people an astronaut-like experience by completing real missions that real astronauts have done in the past, mainly Apollo ones. This gives people a better understanding of what NASA and its astronauts do and why is it important. It shows through simplicity their work and how impactful and complex it is. The importance of all of this education and incorporating it in game will increase the interactivity, especially in younger generations. The feeling of award after completing a task will leave the players wanting more missions which will end up in them learning more and more details about what astronauts do.

Detailed Project Description
Our project aims to inform and educate people about the importance of space travel, the specifics of the challenges humans have taken and still take with the mission of exploring the moon in mind. The Apollo Missions are our main inspiration and we seek to show the significance and details of these operations in a simple and entertaining way in the form of a videogame where we get to experience these operations and interact with surroundings as well as learn interesting facts about space travel, the Apollo missions as well as geological and geographical information about the moon.
The benefits of our project are primarily to spread knowledge and awareness about mankind’s stellar achievements and the experiences and sacrifices taken by brave men and women who took the first step to what would be the most important milestone in humanity’s history, stepping outside of our home planet and onto our satellite, the Moon.
To make our project possible, we worked in unison and used a 2D game engine, our own art ideas using image editing software such as GIMP and a sprite-making app called Aseprite. Our most-used programming language was Javascript.
Space Agency Data
To gather the intelligence present in our project, we took information from the Apollo Project, expedition data from NASA itself and the ISS, and intertwined it to create a full informational presentation with relevant and up-to-date information regarding the topic and this research data from different organizations served as inspiration for the project we worked on.
Hackathon Journey
We have a really good time in this hackathon, as per usual. The challenges were perfectly picked and the support was great. This year we couldn't help but choose a video game related one. We can tell with certainty that there is no better way to learn this much, in such a short period of time than a Space Apps challenge. We all know about the famous moon landing, but the most of us don't know what actually happened there and what the astronauts did. This simple idea is what gave use the inspiration pick this challenge and make a game out of it. As all project we had setback which were overcame by communication and research. We would like to thank NASA and the Albanian hosts of this hackathon for annually giving us this opportunity to grow and learn.
