High-Level Project Summary
It's often seen that young children or people of different ages have a lot of curiosity about Space and the outside world. But In most cases, the subjects of this curiosity are limited only to the imagination. Our application is basically a VR-based Android application that will give a realistic view of various planets, satellites, moons, stars, and extraterrestrial elements of the earth. Besides, controlling the application through VR is also so handy. It will also exhibit realistic data about the weather, temperature, velocity, and so on of different places of space by using NASA 3D resources and NASA API, which will give a perfect idea about everything.

Detailed Project Description
Additional Details:
The application has to be controlled through VR. It will display space objects using NASA 3d resources and realistic information about the weather, temperature, velocity, etc. of different places using NASA API, which will give a perfect idea about everything. By selecting different planets through the eyes, one can feel like traveling inside and out of them.
What exactly does it do? How does it work?
With the application by using VR, a virtual view of space can be seen then you have to select a specific planet through the eyes. It can be moved forward or backward by moving around through the eyes. Then when you select a specific planet, a realistic view of it floats in front of your eyes. Finally using the NASA API will show the current status and various information of the specified object. For details: https://youtu.be/AAz3acb3n5o
What benefit does it have?
It is often observed that young children or people of different ages have a lot of curiosity about space and the outside world. But for the most part, these curiosities are confined to the imagination. Also, it is very easy to control the application through VR. People of different ages can easily get a broad idea about the outside world.
What do you hope to achieve?
We will be able to give a realistic idea about space through the application. The user will get an incredible experience about space, planets, space objects, asteroids, spaceships, etc.
Tools, Coding Language, Hardware
We have used:
- Unity3d as tools,
- C# as Coding language,
- VR as hardware.
Space Agency Data
We have used NASA 3D Resources in this project. We have used It to plot some objects in the game. There are an enormous collection of 3d resources shared by NASA. We have used those resources to depict the space and surroundings as realistic as we can. We have used NASA API to display realistic information about the weather, temperature, velocity, etc. of different places.
Hackathon Journey
Space App experience & what did we learn
We think it’s a challenging competition. We have learned something new while working with Space Apps. Projecting in groups as well as gaining knowledge on various aspects of space and also solving a problem using NASA API by our own ideas.
The approach of developing the project
In Unity, we have created a space environment. We coded it in C# so that it can be controlled with the eyes through VR. Then we fetched information about various planets, satellites, moons, stars by using NASA API and NASA 3d resources.
Setback & challenge
Displaying realistic data of specific objects as well as eye control was a big challenge for us.
Thanks
We would like to thank our honorable advisor and mentor Prof. Dr. Md. Obaidur Rahman Sir, who has always encouraged us.
