Player must control a rover (using buttons) and choose right position to drop the rover into landing zone.2. Player must release the rover onto the cables before the altitude is below the mark, otherwise the rover will crash.Other mechanics:If the rover touches a mountine, the rover will broke and player will lose.If the rover lands not in landing zone, player will lose.At start player have 10000 points. This project simulates the rover landing on Mars, like last NASA landing. This game is not dificult, it is available in every browser, so everyone can play this and understand focal points, even a child, in addition this game has text hints, so it is an education game.
All visual content was almost taken from the NASA website, exept: font, rocket immage, sky crane model and texture.
During the work were used follow tools:
- Unity 3D - game engine;
- C# - programming lanuage;
- Blender - 3D modeling software;
- Asset Forge - 3D modeling software;
- Visual Studio - programming environment;
- Adobe Photoshop - image editor;
Space Agency Data
Models and textures from the NASA collection were used in the project: Mars texture, meteorite, rover parts, starry sky (3 images).
Our game simulates a landing on Mars, so we used data from the last NASA mission to analyze every moment in the landing timeline and create the most accurate simulation.
Hackathon Journey
In fact, this is my first hackathon. This year I took part alone, because I have no friends who understand game development, and it is important for me to know my teammates. During the development, problems arose, each managed to be solved in different ways. In general, I liked everything, if next year there will be a topic that is also interesting to me, I will definitely take part. In general, I began to be interested in the development of games at school, for which I am very grateful to everyone who is related to Anatoliy Lihun Technical Lyceum. I also wanted to thank my teacher Tatyana Bulanaya, who told us about this hackathon and who is a mentor.
