Astronaut

High-Level Project Summary

Maintaining the health of astronauts from micro organisms. Astronauts get a bacterial or fungal infection without their knowledge due to staying for long periods in an enclosed space without ventilation and without exposure to sunlight, which puts their lives at risk or death. Early detection of fungal or bacterial infection greatly helps in the treatment. Ultraviolet light help detect fungal or bacterial infections on the skin, scalp or cornea

Detailed Project Description

Ultraviolet rays were used to detect bacterial or fungal infections in astronauts. I designed a small room to be located in the spacecraft, surrounded by violet radiation from all sides, and the astronaut would enter it from time to time to detect whether he had a bacterial or fungal infection or not. The infection will be phosphorescent color.

This technology will help astronauts to detect infection early, which facilitates treatment and preserves their lives.

Space Agency Data

I read many sources from NASA, and they encouraged me to start realizing my idea and start designing it. Youtube videos were also motivating.

Hackathon Journey

My experience in the hackathon was very wonderful. I enjoyed a lot and learned how to search in NASA references. The idea of the project came to me from my field of study. I study medical laboratories and we study about the risk of infection with microorganisms. I wanted to preserve the health of astronauts by helping them discover the infection quickly to find solutions to it and not exacerbate the problem.

My parents encouraged me with the idea and wished me success.
