High-Level Project Summary
Bees are essential for lots of plants and animals . They pollinate %80 percent of all flowering plants. Without them we 'd only have four years to live. However, the effects of fossil fuels and climate change are threatening them. In our project , we plan to use artificial rain to pull theese fossil gases from the air. If we do this in a planned way, we can stop fossil gasses from accumulating and creating much deadlier acid rains in an area, while also slowing down temperature rises and the problems that follow. Instead of using fossil fueled planes for cloud seeding, we plan to muse solar powered drones.
Detailed Project Description
When fossil fuels are released into the air, they start to accumulate, and this increases their harmful effects.
Our plan is to seed clouds in specific areas so that we can pull them down before they can reach deadly levels.
Most of the time planes are used to deploy the necessary chemicals in cloud seeding. We plan to use groups of drones, and power them via solar energy.
This way, specific ares will be cleaner and safer for bees to inhabit.
Space Agency Data
We used NASA's maps and articles about temperature increase. We used them to fully understand the effects of climate chnage, we used other resources to understand how climate change effects bees.
Hackathon Journey
Our journay was a bit stressful but fun. Our reason to choose this challenge was becouse despite all the benefits insects have for us, they are often overlooked and theese benefits are taken for granted. Since climate change can't be stopped with a singe project, our approach was to decrease its effects on specific areas we want. We learned a lot of valuable information about bees, their benefits and uses of cloud seeding.
Whenever we encountered an issue , we brainstormed and forulated a solution togehter. I woud like to thank my teammates and teachers for this amazing experiance.
