We developed a website that collects user-submitted data and other databases provided by different organizations. It's difficult to detect, track and study insects using satellites, which is why we developed a solution that combines information collected by satellites with the information provided by the website users. This creates more detailed database to see how different variables affect insect behavior.
The users of our website can use it to learn about different insect species and how to identify them. They can enter the information of their insect sightings, this creates the collectible data and for users, it creates a log of their insect sightings. The website would also be a social media channel to socialize and connect with other people who are also interested in insects. Users could choose if they want to share the sightings with their followers or to keep the sighting log as a personal notebook.
The combined database that our website creates could be used in research to track and predict change in insect behavior over time and communicate that information to scientists and the information created by future researches could be used to combat the loss of insect biodiversity.
We used Editor X to create the website, PowerPoint to create the presentation,
Pictures we used in our website were either from Editor X or Unsplash and we used QGIS3 to create the maps used in the website.
Our website didn't actually use any information from the databases, because the technical side of our website is right now just idea-based and not fully developed.
Following data available inspired our project.

The experience was new to all of us. At first, it felt difficult but then we got things flowing. This was the first time we made a website so we had to learn how to do it. We also learn a lot about different data that Nasa has.
This challenge was about protecting the environment which is important to us.
The idea to create a website/app came up pretty fast, maybe because there were other challenges that required the participants to create an app. We started to work on that and during sparring, session experts gave us few tips that we decided to incorporate into our website. After we got the website to the point we thought it was presentable we did the demo.

This project has been submitted for consideration during the Judging process.
Our lives hinge on the wellbeing of insects; at the same time, insect biodiversity is disproportionately affected by human actions. Your challenge is to develop innovative ways to advance our ability to detect insect life, track and predict change over time, and communicate that information to scientists and society to combat the loss of insect biodiversity.
