Hackathon Journey
preface
we have always been interested in science, and when we learned about this event, we wanted to join in to use our knowledge to help environment and test our ability to solve the given problem. although we've learned about the challenge far too late of our liking (we know that our competitors have been aware of the competition for a long time and have been working on their projects for a long time as well. that's why we have had a hard time) we believed in each other and kept our mood and motivations up to the ceiling to make a project that will have contributions to this cause. all in all, we've done a decent job.
how would you describe your space apps experience?
this competition had been an experience we could've get maybe once maybe twice. it was the first time we were taking a place in the challenge and it's been a vivid experience. from the incredible challenges to innovative ideas that our competitor-opponents has brought to the table. it was also ravishing for us to have a peek through the world of insects
what did you learn?
we learned the importance of insects to the human kind and most importantly, the environment. in addition to that, we understand that we must maintain the current biodiversity and we as regular people try to (but influential people/companies must) take practical actions to increase biodiversity.
what inspired your team to choose this challenge?
to raise awareness to the loss of biodiversity was one of the first things which has crossed our minds when we found out this competition is not "just a space challenge" . the human and insect life are intertwined, one can influence the other easily, so we've decided to create this project which would've help us. the change starts from small parts, how can we expect companies to really have a non-tokenized diverse work group when our world is losing its intra-species diversity?
what was your approach to developing this project?
through collaboration and respectfully communication between team members we've actualized this project
how did your team resolve setbacks and challenges?
our companionship was the main element which helped us overcome obstacles in this project. the members are fully enthusiastic about the topic and willing to support each other in this 48-hour process
is there anyone you would like to thank and why?
we as the verdensrommet team would like to thank to our schools biology and chemistry division for making us aware about the existence of this challenge, to the english teachers for their advice on writing a report which improves this project and lastly but not least we would like to give our thanks to the nasa space apps team for organizing this challenge (and holding the competition) every year +to the support team who were always there when we needed their help
