Hello Earth!

High-Level Project Summary

Over the years, the climate has warmed up. A couple of degrees may not seem like much. However, today the planet is warming much faster than ever. Heat-related extremes are predicted to worsen the climate change, posing a threat to human health, environmental and ecological systems that has been already many consequences around the world. We developed an application that will provide world-wide warnings about any possible impacts and providing it for all users like people with color blindness for ease in use. Our application detects the potential risks such as forest fire, air pollution, water and energy supply shortage and crop damage. It is important for saving the future of human race.

Detailed Project Description

We designed an application that will provide world-wide warnings about possible impacts. This is done by generating a heat risk warning level using the Red, Yellow and Green colored icons displayed on the screen each icon is represented with a unique shape that will help the people who have color blindness. Detects the potential risk for Forest fire, air pollution, crop damage, water supply shortage, and energy supply shortage. The application also provides for the users news about recent events happening at the moment around the world. We hope to achieve a world-wide warning coverages for all possible impacts. We have used the "Adobe XD" software to generate our application.

Hackathon Journey

The best part of our NASA Space App experience is being able to think out of the box and to work on a challenge that doesnt fit our major which made us think from different perspectives. We also enjoyed the fact of submitting our idea and feel that it matters to people to know how do we think. It was fun to link between the challenge and our major, so, we enjoyed doing scientists-engineers work. The challenge gave us an opportunity to get exposure at a global challenge to create a community of problem-solving thinkers who work towards imporving out society.

We learned to link between many aspects and think differently, which will give is more opportunities in the future, as well as this will help us build our career because it taught us how to quick-solve a problem and how to think out of the box with a limited time to work on our idea and submit it. As a team, it taught us how to be great at team-work, and how to divide work between us equally. So, team work, quickness, and different thinking are the most learning outcomes we got from our participation.

We were inspired by this challenge since this problem is one of the major consequences we are living in our daily lives.

We are aiming to develop our application in the future by adding voice services for people with vision disabilities so they can use our application without any obstricles.

We would like to thank NASA for giving us this opportunity by joining this challenge.
