High-Level Project Summary

We developed a platform to help farmers take care of themselves when the temperature is high, and they can provide data on their health so that different organizations can take action to help them with special programs or projects. It is important because farmers are a population at risk in the context of Global Warming. It is estimated that many of them are affected directly or indirectly by the long hours of exposure to the sun, many of them die because of it. However, governments do not take control because they do not have enough evidence to support the problem.

Detailed Project Description

Our platform takes live data from NASA to provide information about the temperature and what risk you are under. It is an excellent opportunity to have recommendations to protect yourself.

It also allows users to access their own data in case they want to collaborate to make their voice heard by public or private organizations.

We hope that with this tool, a forgotten but indispensable group such as farmers will not only be taken into account to be protected, but also to create projects with real data to support them.

The tools used for this first prototype are Python language, for programming. Figma for prototyping, Miro to create flowcharts and information architecture. Illustrator for the logo. And of course, live data from NASA satellites to provide data on the temperature of the Earth's surface.

Space Agency Data

We were inspired by a NASA article that talks about the damage that can be caused by heat stroke.

To make the system work we used data from NASA's World View tool.

Hackathon Journey

The experience was extremely edifying because we learned a lot, we learned that there are problems that are present that many ignore, we learned how valuable it is to work as a team and that each person has something to contribute according to their skills.

We were inspired to know that there are people who may need our help and do not know how to defend themselves. Human beings who are the foundation of our society and who require support.

The focus was always to work as a team and to contribute from our skills as much as possible, as well as to take time to relax.

The main setbacks were solved thanks to the mentoring team from whom we received a lot of help. We took the process naturally thanks to our UX training at Danilo Cappelli's SDI.

Thanks to all the people who supported us during the process and were calm enough to address our concerns and thanks to all the colleagues who stuck with us until the end.
