Warning! Things are heating up.

High-Level Project Summary

We designed a mobile application that checks the level/status of climate change in a particular location which will be accesible to policy makers for decision making and for the public to inform and give recommendations. The information can be used by decision/policy makers to create awareness to the dwellers of a particular location and subsequently the dwellers can be informed in a case where there's mild or major effect to reduce the rate at which individuals contribute to climate change. Our Project used crowdsourced data and satellite images to measure the extreme of climate change.

Hackathon Journey

The Space Apps experience for my team was exciting and educating. It was really an avenue to brainstorm and analyse data. The challenge "Warning, Things are heating up was chosen based on the global current situation. The recent wildfires and droughts occurring in some regions and continents motivated us the more to chose the challenge, and as far as we could, the 48 hour hackathon was a productive one. We were unable to Complete the User Interface designs for the project because of the limited time and resources such as electricity.

We are grateful to NASA for the opportunity to participate in the hackathon.

We appreciate our local community lead, Tosin Akintibu.

Thank you all.
