High-Level Project Summary

This project tries to explain in a nutshell what is the Synthetic Aperture Radar to all viewers that discover the video. We are aiming at all audiences because we believe this technology is truly revolutionary in many aspects, so if more people know about it, they can be informed of how we can develop more accurate maps, explore other planets and much more fun stuff. We will explain in the most didactic form how this technology was developed, what applications are similar to it, and how this invention changes the game for planetary surface exploration. By the use of illustrations and easy wording, we will try to convey our video to all audiences that have a certain knowledge about space.

Detailed Project Description

This project tries to explain in a nutshell what is the Synthetic Aperture Radar to all viewers that discover the video. We are aiming at all audiences because we believe this technology is truly revolutionary in many aspects, so if more people know about it, they can be informed of how we can develop more accurate maps, explore other planets and much more fun stuff.

We will explain in the most didactic form how this technology was developed, what applications are similar to it, and how this invention changes the game for planetary surface exploration. By the use of illustrations and easy wording, we will try to convey our video to all audiences that have a certain knowledge about space. We also clearly explain all the benefits that this provides to our society, so everyone can see its importance that this technology has to the development of the map that everyone uses daily, to the research of possible landmass risks and all the incredible things that it will allow us to discover in the future, by letting us explore other planets and plan future space missions.

We will use that video in all of our main social media channels to influence the majority of our community. It will be in both Spanish and English so it can reach even further than just our community so it can be of aid. We utilized diverse programs to develop our video, like different and easy illustrations, icons, script, audio and video editing, and other fundamental assets so we can reach our goal.

We think that the best way for someone to learn something new is by an easy explanation and a great visualization of the thing that they are trying to learn. This video will attack all of this fundamental points so it can be an easy-level entry point to anyone that is trying to understand for the first time this technology and be a good incentive to continue the research of the SAR or other space technologies that have been developed or are in its way to reach its goals.

Space Agency Data

We used the official resources that the NASA provided us to really fill ourselves of all the information that we had available from the sources that we knew were veridical and fact-based. Then, we searched all over the internet for more facts that we could use to better explain the advanced mathematics that were behind this technology and to put them on the hands of the viewers that wanted to continue their own personal research on the topic.

When we finally had all the information that we considered was enough and when we clearly understood the topic, we spent most of our time bringing down all the technologies that made the SAR possible to their most basic level and trying to match other well-known topics to them to better explain everything. After some hours of heavy work, we filmed our video, and we think that it is as straight-forward as it can be to everyone to understand.

Hackathon Journey

It was a very good experience for all the team to be working all together for better results, the coexistence with friends and having a good time laughing, talking, giving ideas for the proyect and we leared that is better to work in teams.
