A Malay introduction to SAR satellites and technological benefits

High-Level Project Summary

In solving this challenge, my team produced a comprehensive video entailing the core fundamentals of SAR satellites. Giving its viewers a better understanding of its importance and functions. The video is narrated in a Bahasa Melayu female voice over, fashioned with visuals that stimulate and represent the notion and development of the SAR satellites . It includes the benefits and lessons of how it will benefit the Malay community. It solves the challenge as it clearly provides the community with the understanding and knowledge about SAR in a concise manner. It delivers the message of importance and responsibility in oneself to take upon the role of a student and advocate of SAR awareness.

Hackathon Journey

The experience is priceless.

Though I ended up doing it alone, I learned a lot from pursuing the goal to produce a great product after all the effort I put in going through all the materials and information extracted provided for in this challenge.

My approach was primarily to accomplish working as a team and taking on the challenge together. The problem that we faced in a team is that we did not share the same passion in winning this Hackathon.

I wanted to win not just for the sake of winning but to be able to deliver a standard that is acknowledged and accepted by Nasa is an achievement worth struggling for.

Though ending with a late submission and still short of some criteria's. It is worth mentioning here that this was a great experience. I will come back next year and win this challenge.

I also learned that there is no Malay literature or reference about SAR satellites and its technology. This also fueled my desire to complete this mission and produce an eye opening product.

I wrote, edited, composed, did the post-production and mastering. The process was a good hustle as putting a subject matter which is equivalent to the size of history it self into a five minute video....is not something that simple.

I want to thank the organisers and all parties involved in making this happen. Truly, it has brought the minds, spirits and character of any person participating to new heights.
