The SAR technology, advantages and impact on the world

High-Level Project Summary

We've developed a video that explains how radars work, and how SAR technology helps to improve them. Adittionaly, we've included some potencial aspects of SAR in situations ocurring in Perú and around the world. We believe this proyect is important because it provides some ideas of how SAR technology could be used in Peru.

Detailed Project Description

The proyect is a video that explains how the SAR technology helps to improve the radars systems. Additionally, in the video we explain the advantages and utilities that SAR could have in some situations that can be observed in Peru and the world. We hope to achieve with this the implementation of SAR as a tool that could help to assess, diagnose or solve some problems occurring in the world, such as the decline of forests and ecosystems due to human causes, or the situation of urban growth in cities.

Space Agency Data

We have used various resources from the NASA website and the NISAR multimedia page. NASA's resources of SAR technology have been used to increase our knowledge of this technology and to explain more simply and objectively the technology in the video. We also used some NISAR animations in the video in order to illustrate the concepts and make the video more understandable.

Hackathon Journey

Our experience at Space Apps has been most enjoyable, enriching and interesting. We have been able to learn a lot about technologies that we didn't even know about, the uses they had and their importance in the world and space exploration.

We chose this challenge because we had the resources to develop the project. We were also interested in SAR technology and its uses. Later, we discovered that SAR was used in situations that were related to problems that exist in Peru, and in the world. This motivated us even more.
