What on earth is synthetic aperture radar? SAR is a data collection where a sensor produces its own energy and records the energy reflected back.Aperture of the lens is the hole inside the lens through which the light reaches the image sensor inside the camera. The radar measures the distance, speed and size of any object. It uses micro waves.We developed a video explaining what is SAR using animations and graphics.We created an animated video in Hindi (our native) language with English subtitles. SAR is very important as it can check conditions of volcanoes. It tells us about health of forest. Due to high importance of SAR, ISRO AND NASA are working together on a project "NISAR".
Our project will provide you an insight of working and meaning of synthetic aperture radar. We created a video which is explaining the topic with the help of animations and audio in native language and subtitles in English language.
Working of SAR- >>SAR is mounted on a flying aircraft/spacecraft , and when it moves forward it scans specific location. Sar receives the picture by the motion of his antenna. From which we get the scanned picture of that place. This radar captures many simple scanned images so that we get a clear and good picture. Which gets cleared due to repeated scanning.
SAR uses different types of waves. here we do not use antenna physically but its motion because of it is known as synthetic aperture radar.
Benefits of SAR->>
1) With the help of SAR we can check conditions of volcanoes.
2) This shows us the Earth moisture content. SAR can show us the activities going in dense forest and it also can tell us about health
of forest.
With the help of the animated video we hope the audience understands the meaning and benefits of SAR.

Our journey for hackathon is pretty much awesome. We learn about making and editing videos. We choose this challenge as this challenge would help common people to understand about this awesome and important topic synthetic aperture radar. Well we pretty much learn and collected data from various sources and compile it according to our needs. By discussing each and everything in between ourselves and taking help from our admiring mentors we resolved our setbacks and challenges...

This project has been submitted for consideration during the Judging process.
Upcoming space missions will provide an abundance of Synthetic Aperture Radar data; however, the tremendous impact this data can have will only be realized if the public understands the data and its potential. Your challenge is to create a 2-5 minute video explaining Synthetic Aperture Radar technology to the public in your own language with English subtitles.
