WHAT IS SYNTHETIC-APERTURE RADAR (SAR)?

High-Level Project Summary

Synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) is a form of radar that is used to create two-dimensional images or three-dimensional reconstructions of objects, such as landscapes.SAR uses the motion of the radar antenna over a target region to provide finer spatial resolution than conventional stationary beam-scanning radars. SAR is typically mounted on a moving platform, such as an aircraft or spacecraft, and has its origins in an advanced form of side looking airborne radar (SLAR).

Detailed Project Description

In this project, we're making an explanation video about the Synthetic-Aperture Radar (SAR). This video will helps other people to understand the uses of this radar in the modern world. Synthetic-aperture radar is a form of radar that is used to create two-dimensional images or three-dimensional reconstructions of objects, such as landscapes. SAR uses the motion of the radar antenna over a target region to provide finer spatial resolution than conventional stationary beam-scanning radars. Apart from that, the benefit of this radar is that it has a processing capability to provide a high resolution imagery for the complex information and a long-range propagation characteristic of radar signals.

In this project, we are using a power point as our main medium for slide making. Then, we also use a voice recorder to do a voice over and then insert the voice using application such as Capcut. We hope that this video will satisfy others curiosity about the radar. The main goals for this project is to deliver the correct information to the public. Caption for our video is available on Youtube.

Hackathon Journey

This is our first time joining the global competition. In this project, we learn a lot about the importance of teamwork. All of the team members cooperate and contribute in this project.
