High-Level Project Summary
Our challenge is to explain ‘Synthetic Aperture Radar’ technology and its capabilities to non-experts, whether they be scientists from other disciplines, our family members or local people. We, Team Aquila, are creating a 2-5 minutes video explaining SAR technology to the public and how its data can positively impact our community. Our video will be in local language i.e Tamil with English subtitles. Our project will create an impact on the locals and people from multi - discipline about the use and need for SAR technology. Also, it will help our upcoming generation in understanding the significance of SAR. Our project will be creatively produce with informatic graphics.

Detailed Project Description
As Mahakavi Bharathiyar words goes " Pudhiyadhor ulagam seivom"( Lets make a brand new world), we believe our project is that little step towards that big goal. Undoubtedly SAR Technology will be our future savior. Our ultimate goal is to create a strong impact on young minds and laymen of our own community and we strongly believe we have set the base. Initially we gathered all the information on what SAR is. We put in a lot of effort to make it easier for everyone to understand. Graphical representation being the hero of our project, has made the video fascinating and interesting. All thanks to NASA SPACEAPPS, they had given us some of the most valuable data, all of them were used in the video and individually we got enlightened by the knowledge on the outer space. Editing the whole work took us to the next level, 'DaVinci revolve' video editing software played a major role in making the project successful. Overall our project had a divine purpose and as a team we are utmost satisfied on the outcome.
Space Agency Data
Data provided by the NASA has been the backbone of our project. All the information regarding SAR was collected from this data. Also, various clip provided by the NASA has been used in our project. SAR images provided by the NASA has also been added to the project.
Also, NISAR's multimedia has been very useful for us to enhance the video.
CSA's RadarSAT data and multimedia has been used in the project.
Open source such as Wikipedia, Google, etc. has been very useful for our project.
Hackathon Journey
As a team, we were excited to work on this challenge together. Our topic is “What on earth is synthetic aperture radar?” this topic grasped our interest instantly. The main objective of this project is to create awareness and explain how SAR could help common men daily. Since we are doing it in our local language we had a problem figuring out words to explain the topic properly. We never felt it was perfect yet, we made changes after changes after changes. Also, all of us are working on our projects and work side by side. We hustled a lot whenever we had time. We would like to thank our friends, they didn't know about SAR we used them to test and find if our video is understandable. We would also like to thank our college mentor Mr. Aasish who guided and gave advice to us on how to approach.
Kudos to Sahil and Jonathan who did explicit work on editing audio and the video, Kritheeswar and Chrysolin for having a good knowledge of the language we took over the script and voice over part. We went through old projects and works done for this hackathon by other students in past years. We gather knowledge on our topic as well as on the application and software we used to develop this one.
