High-Level Project Summary
Our project was developed based on SAR satellites, which are satellites that, in short, are used to capture or take pictures of our planet from space. This benefits us since the satellite has several applications, for example, it can be used in archaeology. It is of utmost importance to have a satellite with these capabilities as they can warn us about any natural catastrophe.

Detailed Project Description
This project is to explain what is a synthetic aperture radar (SAR), in a clear and simple way so that anyone who wants to learn or look for the data about these can understand them easily. We also want to show its importance, how it collects information and the different applications it can have, such as knowing if there is deforestation or constant changes in the different terrains. The SAR works through electromagnetic pulses and waves sent to Earth by a sensor. These waves have different frequencies for different applications. The benefits and applications of the SAR are extremely varied and to everybody fully understand and be able to interpret them, it would be a great benefit for the development of our species. This is the purpose of our video, as it explains quickly and easily all the information. We hope that anyone, no matter their age or where they live, can understand the importance of SAR technology. Mainly the tools we used were the resources given for the challenge, Word to make notes, Zoom to be able to communicate, cameras, voice recorders and video editor mainly.
Space Agency Data
All NASA resources were used, mainly the articles, pdf documents, and videos of the example resources, since they have all the necessary data to understand and explain the SARs. We reviewed, analyzed and summarized the files so that the most important information could be the one explained in the video.
Hackathon Journey
Our experience with the Space Apps Challenge was rewarding and nice. We felt a pretty organized environment and where you can learn much more about new and different technologies, especially with the challenge that our team chose, we learned many things regarding SAR technology and how it helps us to revolutionize the world. We focused on finding a way to explain SAR technology to any person, even someone who knows absolutely nothing about the subject, using methods such as comparisons between technical concepts and everyday situations or objects. Our main challenge was time, since we had a lot of important information that we wanted to explain in the best way and the 5 minutes limit of the video prevented us from doing it, as well as the decision making and organization has become difficult because of the virtual part. We would like to thank our tutors for accompanying us throughout the process.
